Stoneware provides a portal framework that enables single-sign-on access to most of an organization's existing networked tools, whether they're behind or outside the firewall (e.g., Exchange, file servers, Webex, Salesforce, instant messaging, ...).
It’s a Java application that interoperates with the three major directory services (LDAP, Active Directory, Open Directory) and creates federated access to users independent of their home directory. Its customizable permission settings enable individuals and groups of employees, contractors and customers to have secure access to most networked tools.
Stoneware's Webnetwork 5e provides an External User mode, which enables secure, SSL VPN without client software. This simplifies both the issuing of VPN accounts by IT and the accessing of VPN-based services by users. IT won’t have to manage VPN client software, or open more holes in the firewall. Also, when staff outside the office login to the portal to see their project and group workspaces, they can access services that currently require separate login.
For some organizations this product could be the most cost-effective means to add collaborative tools.
It provides the significant value of a single-sign-on, integrated access point, with a customizable portal interface called webDesktop Dashboard. This functionality can extend the life and usefulness of an organization's current networked capabilities. Also, single-sign-on to a variety of networked tools supports adoption of all networked tools. You can integrate ‘islands’ of networked tools capabilities through a single portal structure.
Pricing is based on concurrent users:
- 25 concurrent users - $14,300
- 50 concurrent users - $22,750
- Unlimited concurrent - $45,500
There is an “appliance” version of the product which saves on server configuration. |
